Lassen College Celebrates 100 Years with a Year of Community Events

Founded in 1925, Lassen College is proudly celebrating 100 years of education, service, and community partnership with a series of events throughout 2025.

The centennial celebration recognizes the College’s lasting impact on generations of students and its continued commitment to academic excellence and regional growth. Events are scheduled throughout the year to engage students, alumni, staff, and the broader Lassen County community.

Scheduled events include:

  • Centennial Graduation Celebration – May 22: This year’s commencement ceremony will include a festive atmosphere with a five-layer anniversary cake, decorative balloon displays, and special recognition of the College’s 100-year legacy.
  • Lassen County Fair – July 16–20: The College will host an interactive booth with giveaways, Lassen College swag, and information about academic programs and student services.
  • Fair Parade – July 19: Lassen College will take part in the parade with a large showcase of current programs, alumni representatives, and community supporters.
  • Centennial Campus Celebration – August 16: A major community celebration will be held on campus featuring concerts on the green, food trucks, and student and alumni engagement activities.
  • Time Capsule Ceremony – September 18 Chamber of Commerce Mixer: A historical time capsule will be unveiled and a new capsule will be dedicated to preserve memories and milestones for future generations.

The centennial year marks an important milestone in the College’s history and reflects its ongoing role as a hub for opportunity and transformation in northeastern California. These events provide an opportunity for the entire community to celebrate the past, engage with the present, and look ahead to the future of Lassen College.
